How to Speak in a Scottish Accent

Maybe you’re wondering if I can really teach you to speak in a Scottish accent, right? But let me get this straight, I am not a professional but I learned a lot by copying the accent from a Disney movie ‘Brave’.  Let me give a background about the movie first, it was about a hard headed princess who doesn’t want to be married  but her mother wants to follow the tradition of their clan, in short it is all about fighting what you know that is best for you without harming anyone, especially your family.

Let go and speak Scottish now!!!
First, you need to exercise your tongue, you need to count your teeth using your tongue and please remember to do this with your mouth closed, and after that you should do the inhale-exhale 3 times, I don’t know why but you just need to do it in order to do it correctly.

Second, you should try to find a small phrase like “first born descendant”, and pronounce it like this, “feRst booRn dIsendant”, you need to try and do the accent on the phrase you just picked, do not laugh at yourself when doing this because if you will, you would be less motivated to do so and it is not good to make fun about the Scottish accent.
Third, after speaking the small phrase in a Scottish accent try another one that is longer, like “There are those who say fate is something beyond our command. That destiny is not our own, but I know better. Our fate lives within us, you only have to be brave enough to see it” try to speak it like this “theR R doose hu siy fate is something beyond R command. That disteny is noot R un, but I no betteR. R fate lives within us, you unly have to be bRave enough to si it”. Again don’t laugh and try it (faster), the capital R means that you need to emphasize on its sound.

Or ask this guy for more :)
The last tip I could give to you is to try to watch Scottish films like Brave or other Scottish movies if you really want to have or learn the Scottish accent or learn more here http://www.wikihow.com/Talk-With-a-Scottish-Accent  ,
but if you would want to know more accents like British English, Posh, Australian, Irish, etc. the only solution is to watch a movie where the characters may seem that they have a strange accent that you would want to acquire, and who knows? Maybe you have what it takes to be multilingual (I think?) hahaha.
